Bye for a little while.

Well, I just wanted to post and say that I will be taking a break from blogging for a little while.
My Grandma is having a few surgeries and we'll be going to Las Vegas off and on so I won't have time to post.

Feel free to come and check in every once in a while, I'll be back in a few weeks or a couple months at least.

N and J

Today was freezing cold, we had a social worker come over and it rained. That's pretty much it.
Exciting , I know. :)
Anyway, I thought since I hadn't put up pictures of N and J yet, I would do that today, since nothing really interesting happened. Well, J has his first tooth growing in, and N showed me how she does handstands(there's a picture below).

Anyway, American Idol, Smallville, and Dancing with the stars all ended till the fall, I don't know what I'm going to do at night now! :) I might have to read instead! :)

Sunburned :(

Ahh!!! I have really bad sunburn!

Today was the last day of P.E.(sniff) We played softball and I played first base the whole time so I was standing in one place for a long time and it was really windy and sunny and I got so burnt! :(

My team did win though, 22 to 13!

I thought there was sunscreen in the car so I ran out the door to get in the car before P.E. and we took off to go and we were about half way there when I realized, no sunscreen!

Yeah so I pretty much look like a cherry or a strawberry or whatever you want to call it. I'm pretty tan so usually I don't get that bad of sunburn. But today I did. It's hurting to type so I'm making this short. Well, that's the plan anyway, who knows.

David Cook won American Idol!!!!!!!

I thought David Archuleta was going to win. I was so shocked when they announced David Cook's name! He is better though.

My uneventful day. :)

Today, we sang in the choir at church, thankfully we got there on time! We all woke up on time too!

It's funny, I don't know what it is, but for some reason, I always wake up about 10 to 15 minutes before our alarm clock goes off. It's kind of annoying though because I could use that 10 to 15 minute sleep.

Yeah, and I got out of bed this morning, it was still dark by the way, and I tripped and fell.
Luckily I didn't fall on anything. My foot got caught in the pant leg of my pajamas and down I went(hey, I have big feet, sometimes I don't know what to do with them!).

Our garbage disposal practically exploded last night. Well, I guess it didn't explode, it wasn't draining so all the water dangerously close to flooding the house. It started running down the sink and Brooke and I(at 10:00 at night when we should have been sleeping to get up in 7 and a half hours)had to take pots and pans and go dump water outside. Luckily we called our friend who's a plumber and between him and my dad they got it working earlier tonight.

Then because we had no sink and couldn't wash the dishes we went to Subway to get dinner.
They were out of everything including my favorite bread, Italian herbs and cheese, so I had to get this honey out bread which actually wasn't that bad.

Anyway, I guess I'm done ranting, if I think of anything else I'll come back and edit it in. :)

Well, it's late and I need my sleep(I know it says like 8 something at the bottom, but that was when I first started this post. Now was the time I could finish it and it's 10:57 to be exact. Just to clear things up that I don't go to bed around 8!).

It's summer. :(

Ugh. It's so hot!
I don't understand, a couple of weeks ago it was pretty cold, now, all of the sudden, bam!, it's summer. I hate summer. Well, I guess I don't hate it. I like certain things about it. Like pool parties, all the fruit being in season, cuter clothes, oh yeah, and the Dry Town water park opens up where we live.
But I'd much rather be freezing then boiling.

If you're cold, you grab a blanket from the closet and curl up on the couch.
Being hot is more uncomfortable. I mean hosing yourself off outside can only last for so long.

Unless you're one of the lucky ones who gets blessed by having a pool. I'm no one of those people. :(

Anyway, I guess I should stop complaining now :).

Tomorrow we have to wake up at 5:15 to go to choir practice at church before the service starts.
I hope in my delirium I don't walk out of the house without my music or something! Pray for me! :)

I just finished teaching a piano lesson, and Brooke, Brandon, my mom, and J abandoned me while they went to pick up something at Cosco so I'm all alone in the house. I never know what to do when I'm home alone, usually I just pop in a Smallville and wait. Now I'm posting and trying to find some food, I'm starving! Well, not really, but close. :)
Anyway, I gotta go.

Random things about me........

I know Brooke just did a list about her too, but I'm going to one about me. Nothing really big happened this weekend, you know, the usual, church P.E. piano lessons. Oh yeah, one big thing, we get to keep J for a while now! His grandparents aren't taking him(it's a long story) so he gets to stay with us. For the time being anyway.


Here's some stuff about me.

1. I wear a size 12 shoe(yeah, really annoying)

2. I'm 6 feet tall(I've mentioned this before)

3. I hate the color pink

4. My favorite color is blue

5. I'm allergic to Advil and Penicillin

6. When I was 4 I was playing hide and seek with Brandon and I tripped and
broke my big toe and had a hot pink(I liked pink when I was 4)cast up past my knee for 6 weeks
(I even had little crutches and everything!)

7. I've never been stung by a bee

8. I have long curly brown hair

9. I've been hit in the head with a softball more times then I can count

10. When I was around 10 or 11 I had this fascination with tornadoes. Then later when I saw the movie Twister it all ended and I thanked God we lived California. :)

11. I've dislocated my right wrist 3 times.

12. I can't stand Hawaiian pizza . There's something about cooked fruit that doesn't appeal to me.

13. I love to bake

14. I don't understand why Brooke doesn't like pie crust, it's my favorite. :)

15. I love playing basketball and softball.

16. When I was 6 I hit my head on the window sill by our couch and got 4 staples in my head.
My mom said I only shed 1 tear. So as you can probably tell, I'm a little disaster prone!

17. I can reach across 10 keys on the piano.

18. I own a grand piano. It was a gift from my Grandma.

19. I can barely do anything on the computer or anything else that plugs in or is run by batteries.

20. When I was younger I used to read the minimum of 6 books at once.

Randomness......

The internet finally works so I can post now! We were without internet and the phone for over almost a day! We were like Amish or something! I know that sounds lame but when you have something everyday I guess you never really appreciate it till it's gone. :)

I went with my mom to watch J while she went to a foster parent class at our agency. It was 4 hours! I actually got a tone of stuff done! J slept most of the time so I was able to read a whole bunch too!

Well on a sad note, J will be leaving on Tuesday. His Grandma got him. We'll all be sad to see him go, our first little boy. We just hope that soon we'll get another little one to help fill the emptiness we feel when we don't have anyone.

I'm getting over my cold. Now my nose is just raw from blowing it so many times.:(

We got D today. She's so happy when we go to pick her up. She laughs all the way home!

Anyway, I should go rescue my mom from D. She's all of 2 now and quite wild. :)

Clothes shopping

I went clothes shopping with my mom yesterday at the mall.
I think I might have mentioned this before, but I'm about 6 feet tall, so finding clothes isn't exactly easy. I can't really just run to WalMart if I need a new shirt to go with my skirt or something.
In this particular situation, I needed some new t-shirts for summer.
Usually I can find shirts at Target, but lately they've either not had my size, or had my size but it was in shirts that I would never dream of wearing.

Anyway, first we went to JCPenney, no luck there. All the shirts were again, too short or something that I would never wear. Then we ventured over to Old Navy where I sometimes can find a shirt or two because their shirts are longer. Most of there shirts are long and skinny though, which is totally not me. :) So after looking at pretty much all of the styles of t-shirts that Old Navy carried, I finally found a table behind some ugly looking purse racks that had cute shirts that were long and a little wider, I had hit the jackpot and ended up with 4 new cute summery t-shirts that were just my size.

So if there are any tall girls out there reading my blog who don't enjoy looking like you're wearing clothes that are 2 sizes too small, and who don't have the money to order $60 t-shirts from catalogs , just remember that there are others out there just like you who groan every time they look inside their drawers, and that there are places that sell your size where you don't have to spend your life's savings at, you just have to go out there and find them. :)

Sick.......again :(

I'm sick, again. :(
I usually only get sick about once every 3 months. This is my second cold in a little over a month. :( I guess I shouldn't complain though, it's not like I'm on my deathbed (of course that doesn't stop me from complaining!).

Anyway, I had my first lesson with my new piano teacher today.
I have a whole bunch of new stuff to do. I went from only playing one song in 6 months(now don't get me wrong, I was really bored and I didn't like it at all),to getting 3 new songs in one week. So yeah, I'm a little overwhelmed. Plus the cord from our piano light just broke, so that eliminates some hours in the day that I could have practiced.

Anyway, moving on to cheerful things. P.E. is ending at the end of this month and we always have a pool party at the end, and this year we're going to the beach! I haven't been to the beach in a really long time. You'd think that someone who lives only a couple hours away from a beach would go more often then only about once every couple years, but we've gotten busy and never had the time to go more then that. I guess that just makes the times that we do get to go even more fun. :)

Well, Dancing with the Stars is on soon and I want to go get my PJ's on and find some Sudafed.

Babysitting

I'm babysitting today. There's a spring tea at church and I stayed home to babysit J and N while my mom, Brooke, and Brandon went. Brandon was a server.

J slept most of the time. N and I watched Yours, Mine and Ours.
Then J woke up demanding a bottle, and I made N a PB&J and we finally got to finish our movie.
I surprisingly got 3 loads of laundry done between all this too. :)
I love babysitting, it's one of my favorite things, just as long as I have a plan and know what I'm doing, what kids are eating and where they're playing at, things go smoothly and everybody has fun.
What I usually do if I have a big crowd of kids, I put them in front of a movie at first to calm things down. I usually always pick out the age appropriate movies before hand and let them pick from a few choices. That way they get a movie they want and I still somehow manage to keep the peace. :)

We've had him almost a month and that hasn't happened yet. Hey we can dream can't we. :)

New piano teacher!

I finally got a new piano teacher! I went today for an interview type thing so she could see where I'm at, and it went really well. She started me on a lot of new songs already and I'm really, really excited!
She plays amazingly, I was in shock!

The student I am teaching now is coming along very nicely, she loves playing and is doing really well.

We found out a couple of days ago that we'll have J for at least another two weeks while they work out something with the grandparents. We're all glad to have him longer but we'll be sad when he goes. His grandparents are in their 70's we don't know how well they'll do with a 6 month old baby up all hours of the night, so who knows whats going to happen.

Brandon liked his birthday presents, I got him a Toby Mac cd and a Christian t-shirt.

When I went shopping for Brandon I also got my mom some mothers day gifts I can't post what those are either. I can't wait till she opens them though!

Anyway, I've gotten a lot farther in the book I'm reading, It's getting really good. I'm looking froward to finishing it though so I can move on. I'm thinking of reading This Present Darkness next or Obsessed by Ted Dekker.

I have to go make Brandon's cake, since we were gone last night with my grandma we're doing his cake tonight. He's having a chocolate cake with coffee frosting. I know, my mouth is watering from the thought of it!
